Location:

The candidate will work from Triz Engineering Solutions in San Jose, Costa Rica with the possibility to emigrate to Autocar in Birmingham, Alabama, or Hagerstown, Indiana USA if required after 1 year.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum 5-10 Years of experience in Automotive Engineering Development
  • 3 – 5 Years of experience in Project Management experience
  • Good understanding of automotive industry stakeholders, practices, and processes.
  • Willing to relocate to the USA
  • Willing to travel overseas for variable periods
  • South African Citizenship

Brief Description of your duties: 

Project Managers are responsible for planning and coordinating the execution of their team’s tasks to ensure the timeliness and quality of the required deliverables. In addition, they must interact with clients to determine and understand their requirements and ensure they are met.

Project Managers are responsible for mentoring, motivating and efficiently utilizing assigned team members to achieve project goals.

Project Managers report to Senior Management and customers regarding project schedule, budget performance, Risk, and Issue mitigation planning, etc.

Responsibilities:

Execute development programs from start to production flawlessly

  • Develop project plans, including detailed statements of work, cost estimations and work breakdown structures.
  • Interact, support and drive execution between all project stakeholders
  • Report project performance to senior management and or program manager

Execute development activities flawlessly.

  • Ensure adherence to the relevant process
  • Asses overall project risk daily and provide decisions and directions to mitigate the risk.
  • Ensure accuracy of regular project management reports (resource loading, dates, task status, budgets, risks)
  • Schedule and host internal and external design reviews
  • Manage projects across company departments
  • Develop and improve Project management processes
  • Identify, understand, and facilitate the resolution of technical, commercial or other program-related issues.

Execute development programs within budget

  • Develop and total cost for development project
  • Monitor cost vs quality and perforce and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Report on cost to senior management

Develop customizable products that are mass-produced

  • Ensure project development supports manufacturing to scale
  • Manage project and task timelines to ensure that agreed milestones are reached and to communicate and plan for non-compliance on time.

Support and develop engineering talent development

  • Management of various electrical design resources throughout a project
  • Interface with the Lead Engineers and Managers to help establish and prioritize the utilization of team resources.
  • Delegate work to assigned resources.
  • Direct and guide team members on related issues.
  • Collaborate with internal and cross-functional managers and teams to support identifying critical resource needs.
  • Provide input to the Company performance review process.
  • Provide input to the Company performance review process.

  • Support in identifying critical resource needs
