TRIZ Engineering Solutions is looking for an experienced planning coordinator or project administrator with a drafting or engineering background to perform the tasks of an Engineering Service Documentation and CAD Drafting Coordinator.

This requires working closely with Engineers, Lead Engineers, customers, and possessing the ability to fit into the DNA of the company culture that is dynamic and embraces change.

Apart from a contained and well-rounded person with a high EQ level, he/she will be required to deal with complexity in a fast-paced environment.

The incumbent needs to be a self-starter with attention to detail and bring positive energy to the work environment, with a desire to achieve excellence in the role.

 We provide end-to-end engineering services for commercial vehicle engineering and development from feasibility and conceptualization, through production and service support. Our solutions include zero emissions such as battery electric- and fuel cell- as well as hybrid- or conventional-powered products. We also offer solutions for other advanced vehicle technologies such as ADAS, vehicle autonomy, and telematics. Our services are turnkey solutions that are validation tested and ready for mass production.

Our product development expertise includes medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles in applications such as delivery, bus, motorhome, off-highway, refuse, and several other specialized and vocational vehicle markets.

Requirements:

  • Internationally recognized or South African matric (Grade 12/NQF Level 5)
  • Recognized industry technical CAD or Engineering qualification.
  • Five years of full-time 3D and 2D CAD drafting experience, post qualification, in any mid-to-high-end CAD Software (Solid Works, Solid Edge, Siemens, Creo, Inventor)
  • Experience in team leadership, administration, and supervision in a project or production environment.
  • Experience in task planning, task tracking, and reporting on team performance metrics.
  • Previous experience in the design and integration of automotive components and a sound knowledge of Siemens NX will be an advantage.
  • Be able to show relevant experience in:
    • Manufacturing process exposure (Welding, Sheetmetal, Pipe bending, Harness manufacturing)
    • Experience in customer and manufacturing quality requirements for manufacturing drawings.
  • Competence in using Excel is essential and advanced Excel capabilities would be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

Team Supervision and Administration

  • Task planning and coordination for Engineering Service Documentation and Drafting Service teams.
  • Developing and improving administrative tools, documented processes and procedures, and standards.
  • Developing the quality output of drawings with the drafting service team.
  • Developing, implementing, and reporting on objectives and key results (OKRs) for EPC and Drafting teams.

Service Documentation

  • Use Siemens NX and -Teamcenter to create and maintain Service Documentation of Truck Chassis Systems such as cab, chassis and/or power train components.
  • Assign VMRS codes to OEM truck parts on Teamcenter.
  • Publish Service Documentation to the customer database.
  • Communicate with customer representatives regarding technical and project requirements
  • Plan daily tasks, keep a record of task status, and create reports.
  • Interface with Design Engineering to understand the design intent of the relevant Truck
  • Other tasks that might be required in line of duty

CAD Drafting

  • Oversite of mechanical or electro-mechanical equipment drawing output.
    • Oversite of 3D CAD design of sheet metal components, formed piping, hose routing, etc. when required.
    • Ensuring that 2D manufacturing drawings that meet all customer quality and NDITV requirements including tolerance assignments, welding symbols, GD&T are produced by the drafting service team.
    • Ensuring that complex CAD assemblies of systems, layout/assembly drawings, and other 3D CAD output is produced by the drafting service as required.
    • Developing strategic objectives and key results (OKRs) with the drafting team to drive improved quality and on-time delivery of all drafting service output.

Working Hours:

10h00 –19h00, Monday to Friday (subject to change) with core hours and flexi-time and may require overtime as per project.
